Amanda Crispel, President
Amanda has 19 years of experience in the electronic entertainment
industry, specializing in products for children and families.
She’s been on development teams at Mattel, Leap Frog, Lego,
Brøderbund Software, The Learning Co., Animated Speech
Corporation, Digital Chocolate and Plan B Enterprises. She has designed
numerous popular CD-ROM titles in favorite family lines such as Carmen
Sandiego, Kidpix, Lego Mindstorm, Rugrats, Leapfrog, and Dr. Seuss.
Several of her software titles have earned consumer software awards for
excellence, including the Family PC Recommended award for her first
title, Math Workshop. Other projects include designs for the web,
mobile phones, console platforms, and traditional board and card games.
Crispel joined the faculty at Champlain College in 2005 and is
currently teaching courses in game design and development. She is also
the program director of Game Design and Game Art and Animation degrees
and is responsible for developing curriculum for the program as well as
establishing contacts with industry leaders.
Jonathan Ferguson, Executive Producer and
Technology Director
Jonathan has worked in the Software Industry for over a decade in a variety
of areas ranging from Computer and Network Security, to Information
Systems, to Game Development, in an equally broad number of capacities.
He has worked at several startups, as well as more established
companies. He has a broad understanding of Information Technology, and
knows how to create Information Systems, which foster collaborative
workflows. Jonathan possesses a strong understanding of the technical
needs of today's creative professionals. Over the past three and a half
years, he has designed and developed games that teach logical reasoning
skills, for an educational non-profit. Jonathan has a deep
understanding of both commercial and open source development paradigms,
methods, and workflows. He is currently an Instructor at Champlain
College, teaching in the Game Design program.
Ken Caron, Programming
Ken is a graduate of Champlain College’s Game Design program. He
has also completed a Professional Certificate in C++. Ken has had an
interest in technology and gaming as an artistic medium for over a
decade. He has recently become very interested in development
environments like Flash and Virtools to easily distribute games through
the universal platform of internet browsers. He is very interested in
the topics of digital distribution and the increasing impact the
internet has on modern culture.
